I emptied and moved the drawers into the left corner. But, it turns out the answer is\u2026 NO! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>First of all the chesty o\u2019drawers is too narrow, width-wise. By only two or three centimetres. But it\u2019s also too tall. By a similar minuscule margin. And lo, \u2018twas both wider, and not so tall. Possibly poifeck? So, I emptied that set of drawers, moved it into the corner, and, \u2018wallah\u2019, as TV chefs like to say\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I want to give the shelves another day, to dry out and cure a bit more, before putting a lorra expensive\/precious books back on them. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sebpalmer.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/img_4164-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-10569\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.sebpalmer.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/img_4164-1024x768.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/www.sebpalmer.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/img_4164-300x225.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.sebpalmer.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/img_4164-768x576.jpg 768w, http:\/\/www.sebpalmer.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/img_4164-1536x1152.jpg 1536w, http:\/\/www.sebpalmer.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/img_4164-2048x1536.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 767px) 89vw, (max-width: 1000px) 54vw, (max-width: 1071px) 543px, 580px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">The new dispensation?<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>All of this shifting stuff around has left us needing to find new places for the former bedside drawers &#8211; seen in their new homes, above &#8211; which are, I\u2019m assuming, what would\u2019ve been the base of an old desk. My dad had a roll-mop desk with <em>exactly<\/em> these sorts o\u2019drawers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This also means that the blue drawers can move left, and the office\/studio door can, if we want, be re-hung. Let\u2019s think about that, eh\u2026 hmmm!?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There\u2019s still a fair acreage of wall and skirting board to be painted. And a few dabs of flooring to be neatened up. But this revamp is nearing overall completion.
