Tonight we celebrate Chinese New Year. We had Peking Duck, with sweet and sour pork \u2018n\u2019 chicken balls, prawn crackers, and – a bit off-piste, perhaps? – a Thai curry. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dinner.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

I got us a bottle of Nozecco, as well. And we\u2019re watching Fist of Fury<\/em> (1972!). I had wanted to watch Kung Fu Hustle. But we didn\u2019t want to pay for it. And couldn\u2019t find it free.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We tried Jet Li\u2019s Legend of the Red Dragon<\/em>. But it was just too silly\/shite. So we looked at what was \u2018free to us\u2019, and settled on this:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s dubbed, as was the Jet Li film. Dubbing is something that renders most movies unwatchable to me. They sound so stilted and unconvincing!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fist o\u2019 Fury<\/em> is just marginally more watchable than the Jet Li one. Both are ludicrous in the extreme. The culture of cartoonish machismo is just downright bizarre in its extremity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Still, we\u2019re persevering! Just for a bit of silly fun. Altho\u2019 I might wind up thinking we ought\u2019ve shelled out for KFH<\/em>!?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
