Very good!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I also watched <em>The Bloody 100th<\/em>, an hour long documentary on the subject of the series. We must sedulously guard what little social gains that profligate expenditure of blood bought, such as the NHS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But, getting back to the series and the supporting documentary\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sebpalmer.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/img_9252-1-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-13518\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.sebpalmer.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/img_9252-1-1024x576.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/www.sebpalmer.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/img_9252-1-300x169.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.sebpalmer.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/img_9252-1-768x432.jpg 768w, http:\/\/www.sebpalmer.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/img_9252-1.jpg 1280w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 767px) 89vw, (max-width: 1000px) 54vw, (max-width: 1071px) 543px, 580px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>This final episode draws all the threads together, ranging from guys still flying to those who, one way or another, had to bale out, and make it home (or not) via German captivity, or other various routes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When \u2018Rosie\u2019 and crew are too badly shot to to get home, he makes sure they get to airspace where they can bale out over Russian &#8211; or \u2018friendly\u2019 &#8211; territory. But it\u2019s still an adventure fraught with risk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sebpalmer.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/img_9253-1-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-13520\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.sebpalmer.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/img_9253-1-1024x576.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/www.sebpalmer.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/img_9253-1-300x169.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.sebpalmer.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/img_9253-1-768x432.jpg 768w, http:\/\/www.sebpalmer.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/img_9253-1-1536x864.jpg 1536w, http:\/\/www.sebpalmer.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/img_9253-1.jpg 1920w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 767px) 89vw, (max-width: 1000px) 54vw, (max-width: 1071px) 543px, 580px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Prisoners of War.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Buck, Bucky, and many others, meanwhile, are in Kraut captivity. The drama of their bids for freedom is also highly exciting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And then there\u2019s the eventual ending. Which we all know must eventually come. And I think they handle this very, very well. It makes for one of the most poignant moments in the whole series.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I think it\u2019s shame they didn\u2019t make the series as big as <em>BoB<\/em>, or <em>Pacific<\/em>. But this was still excellent. And whilst it\u2019s divided critics, I\u2019m very glad it was made.
