The postman got me out of bed at about 8.15 am, for this. I\u2019m back abed now. I\u2019d love to have done an unboxing video on these. But tired as I am, this post\u2019ll have to suffice. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rather swimming in the oversized box.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

These three CDs, all from the early to mid \u201870s, by Charles Kynard, and on Bob Shad\u2019s Mainstream label, came in a pretty large box. They were kind of swimming around inside. But at least they were well packed, and appear to have arrived in perfect order.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This post is merely about the excitement the arrival of these CDs causes me. I\u2019ll review the contents in due course. Meantime, here are the backs:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some rather odd titles on this eponymous 1971 release. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

More doo-doo-doings. Chuck appears to have had a thing for this kinda shit!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This – \u201873s Your Mama Don\u2019t Dance<\/em> – is the album, a copy of which my dad acquired on vinyl, many many moons ago, which introduced me to Kynard and his music. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kynard\u2019s on this great album, as well. <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Another connection I made with him, that I forgot to mention till now, is that he appears on Tom Waits\u2019 superb Blue Valentines <\/em>album, as well (on \u2018Romeo is Bleeding\u2019 and \u2018Wrong Side of The Road\u2019).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
