It was a temporary boom, as there are obviously potential copyright issues. But it gave a small window of opportunity for those with eager ears to discover new and unknown material. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One of the sites I particularly dug back then was <a href=\"http:\/\/those with wafer ears\">this one<\/a>, or rather, <a href=\"http:\/\/shad-shack.blogspot.com\/2010\/02\/happy-birthday-bobby.html?m=1\">this one<\/a>, on Mainsteam Records\u2019\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"598\" height=\"274\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sebpalmer.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/img_0138-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-14197\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.sebpalmer.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/img_0138-1.jpg 598w, http:\/\/www.sebpalmer.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/img_0138-1-300x137.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 598px) 100vw, 598px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">What a funky logo!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>I hoovered up as much of it as I could. So I have a good deal of the classic Mainstream 300 series as MP3s. But it\u2019s even better getting this stuff on CD. The three Kynard albums are absolute gold. I already have all the much vaunted Alice Clark stuff (that was released in the UK on CD, some while back).
