And already I love it. Jenkins quotes Thomas Gray: \u2018homely joys and destiny obscure\u2026\u2019 Yep, that\u2019s the life for me!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Later on he talks about the Church of England, and indeed The Church of England, as being \u2018the true Museum of England\u2019, and describes visiting English churches as feeling \u2018the breeze of history\u2019, a perfect phrase, capturing exactly the gentler aspect of the experience of my secular enjoyment of this ostensibly ecclesiastical &#8211; but in truth much broader &#8211; experience.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I\u2019m just reading the intro to this large and battered tome.
