Last night Teresa and I watched this film, which finds Jim Carrey portraying a rather different character from the usual goofy comedic type he’s best known for.<\/p>\n
Set in the 1950s, it’s definitely a nostalgic period-drama, and in more ways than just the visual aesthetics…<\/p>\n
I wasn’t altogether surprised to learn that the movie bombed at the box office and was mostly panned by the critics. On some levels I can understand the criticisms. It is a large dose of cornball hokum, in certain respects.<\/p>\n
