I wish someone would put out a Complete Dr Strut, Remastered<\/em> CD set! Otherwise I suppose I\u2019ll have to get it – 1979\u2019s eponymous debut, Dr Strut, that is – on vinyl.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Out in \u201879, on Motown.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Dr Strut were signed to Motown, no less! And their music is terrific. Tight funky jazz fusion. On the above pictured album, they do a sublime version of the otherwise unrecorded \u2018Canadian Star\u2019, by Becker & Fagen. And their drummer, sadly deceased, was the wonderfully named Claude Pepper!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The old green Ford, in the gallery above, reminds me of Leslie Nielsen\u2019s\/Frank Drebin\u2019s Police Squad car. I a aw it delivering in the (?) area. On the same day, I think, and not too far away from the lilies, at the top of this post.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
