Just came back from brunch at \u2018Spoons. Weather is gorgeous. So we\u2019re out in the garden. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s sooo nice. Thought I\u2019d try and do a bit of arty business outdoors. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The neighbours kids – Ellie and Maya – have a friend over. It\u2019s Easter break. Kids are on their holidays. Screaming girlies! It\u2019s also Teresa\u2019s first day of holiday, today. Conundrum\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

INTERLUDE – WORK<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019m rather enjoying the Picassian and\/or Priapic naughtiness of the phallic thumb and, er\u2026 the whatchu-McCallum? The fleshy pads that form the lower \u2018heel\u2019 of the hand?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Well\u2026 a quick look online tells me they\u2019re called the thenar<\/em> and hypothenar<\/em> eminences! The thenar<\/em> being below the thumb, and the hypothenar <\/em>being the other side\/half.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019m finding this one intriguing. And if I zoom in, there are promising areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As ever, these pass through several stages. And I\u2019m often left worrying that they\u2019re utterly shite. But I\u2019m managing, just about, these days\u2026 to push through that brown wall. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

And I actually wi d up liking quite a bit of what I\u2019m doing. At least I feel there\u2019s both so e continuity, with past efforts, and potential, for future developments. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The above has the potential phallic readings in there, a bit. And it also has, for my (total lack of) money, something a bit late Phillip Guston about it. Which I love, of course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This one, directly above, I really dig. Esp\u2019 in this cropped form. It\u2019s almost statuesque. And, for me at least, it has a Picassian grandeur that combines both weight and ugliness with passion and splendour!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
