Whilst there we visited The Shipwreck Museum, in Hastings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A film was showing, which, it turned out, featured parts (maybe the whole?) of an episode from a BBC TV series called <em>Chronicle<\/em>, pertaining to the discovery and exploration of the wreck of The Amsterdam, nearby.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"669\" height=\"1024\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sebpalmer.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/img_8883.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-27932\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.sebpalmer.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/img_8883.jpg 669w, http:\/\/www.sebpalmer.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/img_8883-196x300.jpg 196w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 669px) 100vw, 669px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Photo source: ThePast.com (no credits listed).<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Wrecks weren\u2019t as well protected legally then as they are now. Which was an issue the archaeologist on <em>Chronicle<\/em> talked about.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/the-past.com\/feature\/the-shipwreck-museum-hastings-and-the-wreck-of-the-amsterdam\/\">This<\/a> is an interesting article on a full-sized replica of The Amsterdam, which resides at a mooring alongside the Dutch National Maritime Museum. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Chronicle<\/em> sounds terrific.
