The screws holding the baseplate on my Titan TTB591ROU router are totally non-standard and weird. Neither I nor anyone in numerous hardware\/engineering shops can find a match. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This means I\u2019ve been unable to mount the router on any kind of alternate baseplate, workstation or jig. And I need to do so. I finally snapped, today, and decided &#8211; \u2018cause it\u2019s holding up my workflow with my current snare drum projects &#8211; this <em>must <\/em>be fixed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"768\" height=\"1024\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sebpalmer.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/img_2340-768x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-28169\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.sebpalmer.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/img_2340-768x1024.jpg 768w, http:\/\/www.sebpalmer.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/img_2340-225x300.jpg 225w, http:\/\/www.sebpalmer.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/img_2340-1152x1536.jpg 1152w, http:\/\/www.sebpalmer.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/img_2340.jpg 1500w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 767px) 89vw, (max-width: 1000px) 54vw, (max-width: 1071px) 543px, 580px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Note swarf, produced by the tapping process.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The solution: enlarge the (approx\u2019) 3.3mm threaded holes to a standard M4 thread, using a tap tool. To my amazement, this seems to have been both simple to do, and\u2026 successful. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The router is now fixed to the \u2018underside\u2019 of the jig I\u2019m making, for routing inner bearing edges. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I\u2019ve had a particular issue causing me problems for aeons.
