He\u2019d be back as soon as he recovered. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But now, like so many before him, he\u2019s gone. At least he leaves behind a musical legacy. I won\u2019t bother lionising him, here and now, nor even analysing his part in The Stones. Something I\u2019ve always been slightly resistant to, for some obscure reason. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So, anyway, despite a total absence of funds, I\u2019ve managed to get hold of a bunch of Stones\u2019 albums, namely: <em>Satanic<\/em>, <em>Beggars<\/em>, <em>Bleed<\/em>, <em>Sticky<\/em> and Goat\u2019s Head\u2026 plus I already had <em>Exile<\/em>. Obviously he grew up closer to all the stuff that he loved\/influenced him. And my route into and through jazz has been much later and very different.
