And she\u2019s listening to some awful pop dreck. But it\u2019s audible to me. Which is a real pity! It\u2019s so obvious, predictable, mainstream. To me it\u2019s brainless, heartless, but most damningly of all, soul-less. As a rationalist who\u2019s not religious the turn my language took there is intriguing!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Anyway, returning to the, ahem\u2026 \u2018music\u2019, the yin and yang of it. The Yin or female component seems narcissistic in a look at me I\u2019m a Barbie princess way, whilst the Yang is narcissistic in an hyper-aggressive shouty way. Neither are attractive to me. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sebpalmer.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/img_2034.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4086\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.sebpalmer.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/img_2034.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.sebpalmer.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/img_2034-150x150.jpg 150w, http:\/\/www.sebpalmer.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/img_2034-100x100.jpg 100w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">\u2026 I\u2019m not alone in my feelings!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>But I suppose I\u2019m not the intended target market. But those two words, target market, sum it up for me. This is not art to enrich the life of the soul (at least not as <em>I<\/em> understand such things), so to speak, but product to help lobotomise the drones, and keep the capitalist machine ticking over. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Right\u2026 a phone call from a drum pupil\u2019s parent has just interrupted my musings. With that finished and out of the way, I\u2019m suddenly and very happily conscious that the music next door has stopped.
