We tried one called <em>The Black Glove<\/em>, about a \u2018jazz trumpeter\u2019, wrongfully accused of murder. But she didn\u2019t like the look of it. So she picked this Bavarian adaptation of an Edgar Allen Poe story instead. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sebpalmer.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/img_2133.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4138\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.sebpalmer.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/img_2133.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.sebpalmer.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/img_2133-150x150.jpg 150w, http:\/\/www.sebpalmer.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/img_2133-100x100.jpg 100w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Lilian and Roger, look great, but are wooden.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The soundtrack has the feel of being dubbed very poorly into English, with very questionable choices of music. Only some of the Germanic locations (oh, and the fulsome boobies, I guess!) save the film from being utterly dire. It\u2019s a pretty bizarre but lame film. Very stilted, but very Hammer-esque.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"784\" height=\"528\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sebpalmer.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/img_2135.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4139\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.sebpalmer.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/img_2135.jpg 784w, http:\/\/www.sebpalmer.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/img_2135-300x202.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.sebpalmer.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/img_2135-768x517.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 767px) 89vw, (max-width: 1000px) 54vw, (max-width: 1071px) 543px, 580px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Not enough Lee!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Christopher Lee is hardly in it, just at the beginning and end. Pity! Perhaps his fee was so big they could only afford him briefly? The Poe pit \u2018n\u2019 pendulum stuff also appears, but to no real effect. Pretty poor, overall, frankly. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But it has a vibe closer to what Teresa wanted, so she\u2019s happy.
