It\u2019s all good clean sex\u2019n\u2019horror-sploitation fun!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But I suppose aorta at least have a stab (groans). The film starts with young Hans seeing his papa guillotined. Later in life Hans is working for Doc Hertz and Baron Frankincense.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"838\" height=\"666\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sebpalmer.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/img_5930.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5215\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.sebpalmer.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/img_5930.jpg 838w, http:\/\/www.sebpalmer.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/img_5930-300x238.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.sebpalmer.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/img_5930-768x610.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 767px) 89vw, (max-width: 1000px) 54vw, (max-width: 1071px) 543px, 580px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Like many Hammer movies, it\u2019s set in some German locale.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>At a local tavern, Kleve, the patron, his daughter Christina, and Hans, become embroiled in troubles with three toff oiks, the upshot being Kleve\u2019s demise, for which Hans is blamed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hans is guillotined, like his ol\u2019 dad, this time with Christina as witness. She tops herself, alowing Baron Frankenfurter and doc Hertz to put Hans\u2019 soul in Christina\u2019s body. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"400\" height=\"242\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sebpalmer.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/img_5928.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5216\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.sebpalmer.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/img_5928.jpg 400w, http:\/\/www.sebpalmer.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/img_5928-300x182.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Hans goes the way of his farter\u2026<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>And to add some spice to the sauce, the diabolical duo perfect the formerly flawed Christina. Physically, at any rate. Alas, the dual residency of Hans\u2019 and Christina\u2019s tortured souls doesn\u2019t pan out so well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"407\" height=\"512\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sebpalmer.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/img_5939.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5208\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.sebpalmer.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/img_5939.jpg 407w, http:\/\/www.sebpalmer.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/img_5939-238x300.jpg 238w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 407px) 100vw, 407px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Denberg mit Spock!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>There are many familiar faces (I recognised Denberg from Star Trek!), such as Peter Thorley as Doc Hertz (who looks like the perfect Geppetto to me!), and the trio of toff villains, Anton, Johann and Karl (Peter Bythe, Derek Fowlds and Barry Warren).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"820\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sebpalmer.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/img_5933-1024x820.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5209\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.sebpalmer.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/img_5933-1024x820.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/www.sebpalmer.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/img_5933-300x240.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.sebpalmer.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/img_5933-768x615.jpg 768w, http:\/\/www.sebpalmer.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/img_5933.jpg 1118w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 767px) 89vw, (max-width: 1000px) 54vw, (max-width: 1071px) 543px, 580px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">A nice photo taken during a break from filming.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>In a bizarre \u2018crisp of fate\u2019, given the plot of this movie, in real life, apparently, actor Barry Warren would later change and live out last five years of his life as a woman!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"530\" height=\"308\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sebpalmer.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/img_5923.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5211\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.sebpalmer.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/img_5923.jpg 530w, http:\/\/www.sebpalmer.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/img_5923-300x174.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 530px) 100vw, 530px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Doing some mad blasphemous science!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>I\u2019m not sure why these silly old movies are such nostalgic fun. But they really are. They\u2019re kind of awful in many ways. But I love them. The technicolour, the hammy acting, the formulaic clich\u00e9s &#8211; from characters to scenarios &#8211; and yet they\u2019re just so much fun!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"296\" height=\"420\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sebpalmer.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/img_5927.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5207\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.sebpalmer.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/img_5927.jpg 296w, http:\/\/www.sebpalmer.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/img_5927-211x300.jpg 211w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 296px) 100vw, 296px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Hammer did a sexy promo photo shoot\u2026<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2026 but this \u2018scene\u2019 was never actually part of the film. \u2018Twas always just a saucy means of getting the film noticed.
