Probably like most of those of us whom Western Civilisation has turned into social media approval junkies, I\u2019d prefer to be using my blog (and other \u2018social media\u2019) to showcase what an interesting and successful person I am. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sadly, at present, it\u2019s operating more as a journal\/confessional, in which I can let off some of the pressure that comes with the introvert\u2019s tendency to internalise suffering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As things currently stand, I\u2019m unable to communicate directly with my mother. We had a bit of an emotional scene last week. It could\u2019ve been a breakthrough, or it might\u2019ve just been a breakdown? And since that time I simply can\u2019t take any more of what\u2019s gone before. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
So, not knowing who to turn to in such a situation (I have shared this with my dear sister, Hannah*), I\u2019m posting this:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mum seems of incapable of offering help without at the same time attacking\/slighting or otherwise belittling me. I\u2019m not sure she\u2019s even aware she\u2019s constantly doing it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I can\u2019t take it any more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I\u2019ve got enough on my plate without having someone who I feel ought to be supportive whispering in my ear constantly \u2018it\u2019s all your own fault\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It\u2019s sapping me of the tiny reserves of energy I have left. Someone needs to have words with her, as it\u2019s having a very powerfully negative effect on me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
